eople believed to be shamans performed rituals while the Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa presidential candidate ticket filed a report to contest the result of the presidential election at the Constitutional Court (MK) on Friday night.
One of the shamans, Suryobuwono, acknowledged that the rituals were his way of seeking the blessings of the spirits of past rulers and historical figures, to pave the way for Prabowo's victory.
'[I'm doing this] for the sake of my country. Prabowo is the real winner of the presidential election. Please don't fool us, the people, anymore,' Suryobuwono said on Friday, as quoted by kompas.com.
Suryobuwono said he had gained the blessings of former kings and religious leaders and was thus confident that luck would be on his side. However, he did not elaborate further on how the rituals would contribute to the Prabowo-Hatta legal team's report.
'We came here so the panel of judges will open their minds to Prabowo, who is the real winner,' he added.
The Prabowo-Hatta legal team brought three bundles of documents, which they claimed to be evidence of fraud committed by the Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo-Jusuf Kalla ticket during the election, to the court. (dic)
