resident-elect and Jakarta Governor Joko "Jokowi" Widodo attended PresidentSusilo Bambang Yudhoyono's last State Palace Idul Fitri open house on Monday.
Yudhoyono opened his doors to people of various backgrounds at the State Palaceto celebrate the first day of Idul Fitri on Monday, which is also the last openhouse at the palace for the outgoing President.
"No, there was no message [advice from Yudhoyono]," Jokowi toldreporters after the short halal-bihalal or the post-Ramadhan gathering betweenthe two, who conversed for just five minutes. "It was a maaf-maafan[asking each other for forgiveness] and then [I] immediately took myleave."
Jokowi, along with his presidential running mate Jusuf Kalla, went to the palaceat around 12:20 p.m.
Earlier, losing presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto also attended the openhouse. Prabowo was accompanied by Gerindra Party executive Fadli Zon. GolkarParty chairman Aburizal Bakrie was also spotted at the event.
The President also received a number of Cabinet members, leaders of state institutions,ambassadors and governors between 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
After a short break, Yudhoyono and the First Family will receive members of thepublic at the Idul Fitri open house at 3:30 p.m. An Idul Fitri open house atthe palace has been an annual tradition during Yudhoyono's presidency.
