Jokowi, prominent figures visit Megawati at Idul Fitri open house

resident-elect and Jakarta Governor Joko "Jokowi" Widodo andnumerous prominent individuals and state officials visited IndonesianDemocratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri at an openhouse held at her residence on Jl. Teuku Umar, in Menteng, Central Jakarta, onthe first day of Idul Fitri on Monday.

Vice President Boediono, vice president-elect Jusuf Kalla, Coordinating Economic Minister ChairulTanjung, former vice president Hamzah Haz, former foreign ministerHassan Wirajuda, presidential advisors Meutia Hatta and Emil Salim and ElectionOrganizers Ethics Council (DKPP) head Jimly Asshidiqie attended the gathering.

Mexican Ambassador to Indonesia Melba Pria, Colombian Ambassador to Indonesia AlfonsoGarzon and Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia Fariz Mehdawi were among theenvoys present at the event.

Members of Jokowi's coalition parties such as NasDem Party chairman SuryaPaloh, Hanura Party chairman Wiranto, National Awakening Party (PKB) chairman MuhaiminIskandar, Jokowi-Kalla campaign team member Luhut Panjaitan and PDI-Psecretary-general Tjahjo Kumolo were also in attendance.

Meanwhile, Megawati also invited business tycoons and CEOs, such as IndonesianEmployers Association chairman Sofjan Wanandi, Bosowa Group CEO Erwin Aksa and PTGaruda Indonesia CEO Emirsyah Satar.(gda)
