Text your say: President-elect Jokowi

Y

our comments on the declaration by the General Elections Commission (KPU) that the ticket of Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo-Jusuf Kalla won the July 9 presidential election, despite protests from the rival pair, Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa:

I think some politicians lack political maturity. The protests by Prabowo and his friends to the KPU showed that power is everything for them. Jokowi is the real winner, so those who claim they are statesmen should welcome the new President.

I hope the president-elect Jokowi will not be like the present president of North Korea, the grandson of well-known Kim Il-sung, the founder of North Korea. Unlike the grandfather, he is just a symbol of a country of generals.

The KPU has done the job well. I voted for Prabowo, but the KPU declared Jokowi the winner. So, it is time to give full support to the new president. Let us forget about the quarrel that took place before the general election and start working for the whole nation.

Congratulations on concluding a peaceful election.

The business markets responded positively. Expectations are that the stock market index and gross domestic product (GDP) numbers will soar if the proposed policies outlined in the winning manifesto are implemented.

From being a virtual unknown in 2010, Jokowi has become president in 2014. This truly is remarkable -- bordering on a miracle.

This proves that no amount of ill will nor evil could defeat the power of simplicity and kindness. My first words are to congratulate Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla for becoming president and vice president (second time for you, Kalla!) of Indonesia for the 2014 to 2019 period.

I hope from the bottom of my heart that you will fulfill the hopes and dreams of many in this nation who have been weighed down by the past for far too long. Also, to the people of Indonesia, regardless of who you supported today is a victory for us, a victory for democracy and a victory for Indonesia. Now let us all move on with our lives and maintain the unity of this great nation as we march together to the future '€” which, I hope, will be bright.

It was the best decision for a good future. There are a lot of problems to solve and I call for Prabowo to accept defeat and work with the new president for a better future.

From all of my heart I congratulate you, the people of Indonesia, for your wise choice.

It was a very important decision that was reflected in the official
results.

The winners are you, the people, who in a democratic process, which was, for such a long time, withheld from you for vain reasons, chose your new leader for the next five years to be your representation internally, as well as internationally. I am certain he will do it with honor and dignity, which you all truly deserve.

Congratulations once again! I am extremely happy and satisfied for you all.

Long live democracy!

Max

Congratulations to Pak Jokowi and Pak Kalla and to the people of Indonesia for your wise choice. Under your leadership, Indonesia will have a bright future and the people of Indonesia will do much better.

Jokowi officially won support of 53 percent of our citizens, but 46 percent have the legal right to support the election contestation in court.

Equality before the law guarantees everyone the same rights. Let us see what will happen in the next three months.

It is part of the democratic process '€” common sense even in the US.

Congratulations to Pak Jokowi. Nevertheless, I ask him to get back to work immediately before his swearing-in takes place and to use the rest of his time as governor to do whatever he can to improve Jakarta.

Please pay attention to the roads around the Kampung Melayu and Pondok Gede areas.

They are very bad and need to be repaired. It is a good time to repair this area now, as a lot of people are visiting their hometowns and, accordingly, the lack of traffic will make it easier to repair the roads.

He is the right man for Indonesia. Bravo Jokowi! From the bottom of my heart, I salute you!

You shall be the standard for future leaders of Indonesia.
