s many as 11 people were killed in traffic accidentsduring the Idul Fitri holiday, based on data from the Jambi Policeheadquarters. The data was supplied by a number of posts during the 2014Ketupat Operation.

'€œOf the 20 traffic accident cases four days after Idul Fitri, 11 people were killed, eight suffered serious injuries and 22 light injuries,'€ said Jambi Police chief spokesman Adj. Sr. Comr. Almansyah on Friday, adding material losses were estimated at Rp 83 million (about US$7,600).

The traffic accident rate had also increased. The Jambi Police recorded 455 traffic offenses in Jambi province during Idul Fitri.

During their Idul Fitri security operations, police issued a total of 189 traffic tickets and 257 reprimands.

Police also dealt with 26 conventional cases, such as muggings and robberies, before and after Idul Fitri.

In addition, they handled 18 prominent crime cases, including theft (seven cases), theft by violence (three), motor vehicle theft (five) and gross physical abuse (three).
