Living legend Iwan Fals has announced he will perform in front of 4 million people on Nov. 1 ' a plan he has toyed with for the past year.
The singer-songwriter announced the date for the concert, with the venue stretching for kilometers from the National Monument (Monas) Park to Bung Karno Stadium (GBK) in Central Jakarta, through his Twitter account @iwanfals.
'Four million people gather for love, to be themselves. Nov. 1, 2014 from Monas to GBK. I hope we can [make it reality],' he tweeted.
The 52-year-old singer hoped people could gather in joy as they sing the extended version of 'Indonesia Raya' as originally written by Wage Rudolf Supratman.
'Four million people, caring, loving, nurturing each other, singing three stanzas of 'Indonesia Raya',' he said. The first stanza of 'Indonesia Raya' was chosen as the national anthem when the founding fathers proclaimed the country's independence on Aug. 17, 1945.
