The Lebaran exodus is one way to call attention to the need to allocate funds to ârepairâ the roads
he Lebaran exodus is one way to call attention to the need to allocate funds to 'repair' the roads. Our government does not serve the public, but instead uses the people for monetary gain.
Every year we witness the pitiful sight of travelers, vehicles lining up patiently at certain sections of roads as people make their way home, yet the government does not seem to care.
Our people are just used to the situation and see it as pointless to report issues to the concerned authorities.
Hence, long lines of vehicles on most public roads; and bumper-to-bumper traffic to get to the ferry crossings at the Sunda Strait; between Java and Sumatra; the Pantura (Java's northern coastal highway), the Trans Sumatra Highway; and many more.
We all have high hope that Joko' Jokowi' Widodo and Jusuf Kalla are elected the new president and vice president and put an end to the suffering of our poor. Enough is enough!
