ustoms and excise officers arrested an Indonesian woman identified only as EW, 36, for allegedly attempting to smuggle shabu-shabu (crystal methamphetamine) worth Rp 3.14 billion (US$285,454) through Sepinggan International Airport.
'We found the drug hidden in the suitcase of the suspect,' Balikpapan Customs and Excise supervisory and control head Kunawi said as quoted by Antara news agency on Monday.
Kunawi said EW, a migrant worker employed in Hong Kong, attempted to smuggle the drug from Hong Kong to Balikpapan after transiting in Singapore on Saturday.
He said EW claimed she was a courier who would be paid Rp 18 million when another person took delivery of the drug in a hotel in Balikpapan.
