The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) opened on a positive note in Friday's first trading session, rising 0.19 percent to 5,215.83.
Meanwhile, the LQ45 index climbed 0.27 percent to 892.09.
Samuel Sekuritas analyst Aiza said that the Constitutional Court verdict on the presidential election result dispute announced on Thursday night, which rejected all claims in Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa's lawsuit alleging widespread fraud in the July 9 election, sparked positive sentiment in the domestic market.
"Last night's verdict had a positive impact on the minds of investors," Aiza said in Jakarta on Friday as quoted by Antara news agency.
He said market players would start monitoring the legislature, the forming of the Joko "Jokowi" Widodo-Jusuf Kalla Cabinet, fuel prices, the country's trade balance and the current account.
He also said a number of indices that improved in stock markets across Asia had helped strengthen the JCI.
In the regional market, Hong Kong's Hang Seng and Japan's Nikkei strengthened by 0.39 percent and 0.16 percent, respectively.
The Singapore's Straits Times also strengthened in the morning session, climbing 0.27 percent to 3,334.99. (nfo)
