AKARTA: Film and theater actress Happy Salma is excited about her new activity of creating gold and silver jewelry with her close friend Sri Luce Rusna.
Happy said that in designing the jewelry, they were influenced by traditional Balinese designs while infusing other ethnic Indonesian elements.
'I can say that I have an OK income from jewelry production,' the 34-year-old actress told kompas.com in Jakarta.
The pair's first jewelry collection was released in 2011, entitled 'Juwita Malam' (Beauty of The Night), taken from a song of the same title by legendary songwriter Ismail Marzuki.
'Our concept is to provide a set of jewelry that is suitable for international tastes, but in the vein of ethnic Nusantara. The jewelry should be wearable with a pair of jeans and an evening gown,' Happy said.
