our comments about a report on an alleged difference of opinion between president-elect Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo and vice president-elect Jusuf Kalla as they prepare their future Cabinet:
Differences of opinion between Jokowi and Kalla is a possibility, but in the end the vice president has to obey and adjust his opinion in line with the president's policies. To call it a rift is just an attempt to cause trouble in forming the next administration.
I am only worried that Jokowi, due to his loyalty to his party chief, would adjust his policies according to the wishes of the chief.
As a president with powers entrusted by the people, he should define his policies independently and apply them confidently.

Jokowi has denied a rumor about the rift between him and Kalla over the composition of the Cabinet and Jokowi will certainly have full authority to fill positions in his future administration after he is sworn in as president in October 2014, with or without agreement from Jusuf Kalla.

I don't think we need to exaggerate a rumor of rift between Jokowi and Kalla while forming the Jokowi cabinet. It will only pit them against each other.
We should support the new government so they can work effectively.
