he Central Statistics Agency (BPS) has recorded that Indonesia's exports amounted to US$14,178.2 million in July, down by 7.99 percent from $15,409.5 million in the previous month.
'The decrease was caused by a 7.86 percent decline in non-oil and gas exports to $11,631.5 million from $12,623.5 million,' BPS head Suryamin said as quoted by kompas.com in Jakarta on Monday.
He said Indonesia's oil and gas exports, which declined by 8.59 percent to $2,546.7 million from $2,786 million, had also contributed to declines in the country's exports.
Suryamin said Indonesia's crude oil exports declined by 32.43 percent to $677.8 million while the export of oil products decreased by 3.64 percent to $307.7 million. Meanwhile, Indonesia's gas exports increased by 6.68 percent to $1,561.2 million.
Therefore, Suryamin said, July's oil and gas export volume for crude oil and oil products declined by 33.97 percent and 12.58 percent respectively, compared to figures in June.
'Compared to July 2013, Indonesia's non-oil and gas export value in July this year experienced a 9.17 percent decline, while cumulatively, the country's export value from January-July 2014 reached $103,002.8 million, down by 2.97 percent,' said Suryamin. (dyl/ebf)
