n final paragraph of the article titled 'Fuel price hike: the higher, the better', printed on this page on Sept. 18, the word 'retail' should have read 'consumer'. This caused a considerable change in meaning, as in this article, 'retail' refers to retail companies, whereas 'consumer', which should have been used, refers to consumer companies. The increase in the interest rate has brought different implications to the two business sectors.
The higher rate may cause retail shares to underperform, while the shares of consumer companies will outperform if there is an interest rate hike.
We regret the error.
