Banyumas regency official has said that hisoffice intends on shutting down 19 Indomaret outlets due to permit violations. The tough decision was made following the stores inability to fulfill certain requirementsof their permits.
'We have warned them so many times. In fact, they even dared to ignore our warnings by removing the seals and reopening the stores without our permission,' Banyumas regional secretary Wahyu Budi Saptono said on Saturday.
Wahyu said the outlets had failed to fulfill various administrative requirements.
The outlets are spread all over the regency, some of them even located in villages.
Commenting on the plan, Joko Santoso, a lawyer from PT Indomarco Prismatama, which owns the outlets, said the company would fight back by filing a lawsuit at the local court.
'We will also file a report with the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) if we have to. There will be a serious violation of human rights if the administration insists on closing down our stores,' he said.(dic)
