The Chinese government is holding a photo exhibition on China's history at the auditorium of the National Museum in Central Jakarta.
Chinese Ambassador to ASEAN Yan Xiuping said that she hoped the exhibition, which is being held from Sept. 22 through Sept. 25, would strengthen bilateral relations between China and ASEAN member states.
'I am hoping that this exhibition runs successfully and China-ASEAN relations in the future will be bright,' Xiuping said as quoted by Antara news agency.
Li Yi, the Federation of Chinese Art and Literature's deputy chairman, said that under the 'Dream and Memory' theme, the exhibition, which was officially opened by Xiuping and ASEAN Foundation executive director Elaine Tan, was displaying various images showing the development of China from 1970 until 2014.
'In 1978, China implemented the Openness and Reformation Policy. The policy has shaped China into the country it is today,' China Federation of Literary and Art Circles deputy chairman Li Yi said.
Although China has experienced healthy economic development for the past 35 years, Xiuping said that the country still faced big challenges. (alz/nfo)(++++)
