On Sept. 4, the young woman filed a report with the South Jakarta Police alleging that she had been raped by six men. The police have so far questioned three of the six men. She was later hit by a motor vehicle on Jl. Aria Putra, Ciputat, in South Tangerang, Banten on Sept. 16.
LPSK chairman Abdul Hans Semendawai told reporters on Saturday that the girl would immediately be provided with psychological assistance as well as protection from the alleged perpetrators, who remain at large.
'The agency is always here for victims and witnesses who seek protection,' he said.
Separately, the LPSK's deputy chairperson, Lili Pintauli Siregar, said the agency would offer medical help and accompany the victim during the legal process to give her the confidence to testify in court.
