hirteen students who were expelled from SMA 70 state high school in Bulungan, South Jakarta, have enrolled in several different schools.
The school expelled the 13 students for allegedly bullying a 10th grade student.
According to Jakarta Education Agency deputy head Istaryatiningtias, the agency facilitated the students' registration at their new schools. 'The 13 students now attend different schools. Some attend state schools while others attend private schools,' she told reporters at City Hall in Central Jakarta on Tuesday as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Separately, Deputy Governor Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama said that expelling and separating the students was necessary to teach them a lesson. 'There was no other way. I hope they've learned their lesson,' Ahok said at City Hall on Tuesday.
