s a part of efforts to create thematic parks, the Parks and Cemeteries Agency will convert the 1-hectare Spathodea Park in Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, into a statue-themed park.
Agency parks department head Ratna Dyah said on Tuesday that her department would cooperate with the Tourism Agency to install the statues.
Ratna said many residents had made suggestions for the statues, including installing statues of public figures like the late president Abdurrahman Wahid in the park.
'We will put five to 10 statues in Spathodea,' she said as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Ratna said her department was also considering giving the opportunity to visual artists to participate in the project. 'We can hold an exhibition there,' she said.
