Two more dissatisfied patients filed police reports against doctors at the Metropole Clinic in West Jakarta on Monday.
'The two people filed reports with the West Jakarta Police. They have accused the doctors of malpractice,' Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Rikwanto said on Tuesday.
The two new police reports follow a report filed by Elda Deviana with the Jakarta Police on Saturday against the doctors at the clinic for malpractice. She said the doctors had performed two unnecessary operations on her that resulted in physical and psychological trauma.
Rikwanto explained that the police had questioned West Jakarta Health Agency head Widyastuti. According to a statement she made to the police, the Metropole Clinic had a permit to write prescriptions but not to treat inpatients. The clinic was closed in August for lacking the correct permit.
The police said they would summon the main doctor, identified only as ES, and other doctors for questioning. However, Rikwanto said the doctors had not been at the clinic since its closure and it would take a while to locate them.
