inance Minister Muhammad Chatib Basri launched new retail bonds, code-named ORI011, in an event entitled 'Save earth water' because of its connection with flood mitigation efforts at Hutan Kota Serengseng in Kembangan, West Jakarta, on Wednesday.
'The bid period is from Oct. 1 to Oct. 16. The allotting date is Oct. 20. The settlement date is on Oct. 22 and the maturity is on Oct. 15,' he said, as quoted by Antara news agency.
Chatib further explained that the minimum order for ORI011 is Rp 5 million (US$411.35) and its multiples, while the maximum order is Rp 3 billion, with the coupon payment due on the 15th day of every month.
'2014 is a historic year because the amount of bonds or treasury notes [SBN] has reached a gross value of Rp 430 trillion and Rp 265 trillion net. This is in accordance with Indonesia's continuously growing state budget [APBN],' said the minister.
He hoped that ORI011 could attract domestic investors to buy shares.
Consumers interested in buying ORI011 can contact the appointed sales agents, namely Citibank, ANZ, Bukopin, BCA, CIMB Niaga, Danamon, DBS, BII, Mandiri, BNI, OCBC, Panin, Permata, BRI, BTN, UOB, Standard Chartered, Dhanghai Banking Corporation, Danareksa Sekuritas, Trimegah Securities and Ducorinvent Central Gani.
During the launch ceremony, Chatib, together with 21 ORI011 sales agents, made several biophore absorption holes, which use ordinary household garbage to draw surface water down to the level of the subterranean water table so as to block the inflow of flooding seawater. The demonstration was aimed at showing the commitment of the government, namely the Finance Ministry's Directorate General for Debt Management, and 2014 government bonds (SUN) selling agents toward conserving the environment.
Some of the profits that will come from the ORI011 sales will be used to produce 4,000 additional biophore absorption holes at Hutan Kota Serengseng. (ebf)(++++)
