Guess what: JKT48 dreams of a cleaner city

(Kapanlagi.com)

JAKARTA: Members of the all-girl'€™s music group, JKT48, have many hopes for Jakarta.

JKT48'€™s 50-some-odd members are between 14 and 23 years old, and the group was created as a sister group to Japan'€™s AKB48 (Akihabara48), which has a cult following of fans.

'€œThe most unfavorable thing about Jakarta is the traffic,'€ said group member Naomi, who is Japanese and the first AKB48 member to launch an overseas career.

Another member, Melodi, said priority should be put on sanitation. '€œI want to see a clean capital city and, therefore, people should stop littering,'€ she said.

The Jakarta administration has chosen the group, Jakarta48, as the ambassador for its Enjoy Jakarta tourism program.
