The three-time All England champions really showed their class, controlling the court from the first game and leaving the young Chinese players out of sorts with a rash of unforced errors. Riky Widianto and Puspita Richi Dili also made it to the next round after defeating Liu Yuchen and Yu Luo, 22-20, 24-22.
Unfortunately, Praveen Jordan and Debby Susanto were defeated by first seeds Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei of China 21-15, 22-20, Reuters reported
In the men's doubles, Indonesia's Gideon Markus Fernaldi and Markis Kido defeated Germany's Max Schwenger and Josche Zurwonne 21-7, 21-18. Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan were scheduled to play later in the evening against China's Cai Yun and Kai Lu. So were women's doubles pair Pia Zebadiah Bernadeth and Rizki Amelia Pradipta, and Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka.
