Days prior to the inauguration of the country's seventh president, president-elect Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo and acting Jakarta governor Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama shared some light moments on Thursday at Istora Senayan, Central Jakarta, as Jokowi and city officials said their goodbyes.
Jokowi and Ahok, who until recently led Jakarta as governor and deputy governor, respectively, fondly recalled moments during their two years leading the city.
Your comments:
God bless and good luck to both respected Indonesians.
I hope they both survive these five years ahead, as it will be a great test to see if Indonesia can be
taken seriously and compete to be a world player.
Political and personal differences must be set aside if we want Indonesia to move forward.
I believe Jokowi has the ability to gather everyone at the table; it's only a matter of time and we'll see the difference.
I'm confident he'll make Indonesians proud. As far as Ahok is concerned, I see Jakarta moving toward discipline and efficiency.
There's no doubt in my mind, if Ahok was a member of the Cabinet, the country would be rid of illegal drug problems and we wouldn't worry about radicals and fundamentalists.
Undoubtedly, Indonesia would be much safer for everyone. God bless Indonesia.
