KAI Operation Region (Daop) I Greater Jakarta spokesman Agus Komarudin said 200 personnel from a number of institutions ' KAI, the Transportation Ministry's railway directorate-general and the city administration ' had demolished the buildings, which were used for parking and as food stalls and junk warehouses by garbage collectors.
'We will try to clear the area within two days,' he said as quoted by kompas.com. 'After the area's been cleaned up, the railway directorate-general will enclose it and change it into an open green space,' Agus said.
