he Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has completed its investigation into the track records of minister candidates proposed by President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla by assigning yellow and red marks those deemed vulnerable to corruption charges.
KPK deputy chief Zulkarnain explained that minister candidates given red marks were highly vulnerable to being named graft suspects. Those given yellow marks, he added, also faced the possibility of being named suspects, but their risk level was lower than those given red marks.
'We are hoping that candidates who are very likely to be named graft suspects are not going to become ministers,' Zulkarnain said on Monday as quoted by Antara news agency.
He added that his commission had made the report based on official wealth report forms (LHKPN), internal investigations, and reports from the public.
However, he declined to disclose the names of Jokowi's minister candidates.
'The report is confidential. I do not want to focus on each person,' he said.
Jokowi submitted the names of minister candidates to the KPK on Friday. On Sunday, KPK submitted its findings to Jokowi.(alz/nfo)(+++)
