News Flash: Financial services offered via phone decrease: OJK

J

AKARTA: Financial services offered through short message service (SMS) and phone calls have decreased after the Financial Service Authority (OJK) restricted such practices.

'€œOur survey shows that there has been a decrease in calls and SMS offering unrequested financial services from an average of four offers a day to just three offers a day since the restriction,'€ OJK consumer protection director Sondang Martha Samosir was quoted by kompas.com as saying recently.

Data obtained from OJK customer service indicates that the offers were being made by freelance telemarketers from a number of financial service providers. '€œIf you receive unrequested financial service offers by phone or SMS, please report to our call center on 10500-655.

We will conduct an investigation and take the appropriate action with the related financial service provider,'€ Sondang said.
