#PresidenJokowi Twitter hashtag trending worldwide on Monday

eginning Monday morning as the People'€™s Consultative Assembly (MPR) prepared to inaugurate Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo as the country'€™s seventh president, netizens began flooding Twitter with tweets bearing the #PresidenJokowi hashtag, causing it to trend worldwide.

One member of the "Twitterati", @ThaliaLavinia said: '€œCongratulations @jokowi_do2 and @Pak_JK as you will be leading the nation for the next five years. We hope that Indonesia is going to be a better country #PresidenJokowi.'€

In addition to the hashtag, #PresidenJokowi, #SyukuranRakyat (people'€™s thanksgiving) and #Salam3Jari (three-finger salute) emerged on Monday as two of the top-five trending Twitter topics in Indonesia.

Tens of thousands people on Monday flocked to the capital'€™s major roads, occupying the west part of Jl. Sudirman and Jl. MH Thamrin amid sweltering heat to celebrate the inauguration of Jokowi and Vice President Jusuf Kalla.

President Jokowi and Vice President Jusuf Kalla took an oath at the House of Representatives in Senayan, South Jakarta, at 10:15 a.m.

Indonesians of various backgrounds descended upon several major streets to greet Jokowi, who will drive by car to the Hotel Indonesia traffic circle in Central Jakarta before continuing to the State Palace by horse-drawn carriage. (++++)
