resident Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo conducted a meeting with Papua New Guinea (PNG) Prime Minister Peter O'Neill at the State Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday morning.
Jokowi said that during the 30-minute meeting, he and Neill talked about future investment opportunities between the two neighboring countries.
'We discussed future investments in wood, mining and fishery in PNG,' he said as quoted by kompas.com.
Jokowi said that he and Neill also discussed border issues between Indonesia and PNG.
'We will continue our talks on borders after [Indonesia] has a new foreign affairs minister,' he said.
Also on Tuesday, Jokowi is set to meet with Russia Trade Minister Denis Menturov.
On Monday, Jokowi, after being inaugurated by the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) as Indonesia's seventh president, conducted meetings with US Secretary of State John Kerry, Malaysia Prime Minister Najib Razak, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Australia Prime Minister Tony Abbott, and Sultan Hasanal Bolkian of Brunei Darussalam.
