JAKARTA: Filmmaker Lola Amaria recently spoke at an international conference dubbed The Asian Consortium in Hong Kong about ongoing and future social changes in Indonesia
Lola said that she was among dozens of under-40 speakers from 15 countries around Asia involved in the conference, which was held on Oct. 18 and 19 during the '10 Day Fest' event hosted by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
'I was invited as a filmmaker to convey my views about changes in Indonesia and also in Asia,' the 37-year-old director told kompas.com in Jakarta.
Lola said that film was a good tool to communicate critics as part of social revolution. 'Film is a medium to spread the virus of social changes,' she said.
