AKARTA: The biography of one of the country's founding fathers, Muhammad Hatta, will be made into a movie, expected for an August release next year.
Dantesinema associate producer Fathya Feurazia said a team of writers and researchers had taken up extensive research on Bung Hatta, as he was fondly called, studying up to 80 relevant books and are currently in the Netherlands to complete the research.
Fathya mentioned that finding the right actor to play one of the most important historical figures in Indonesian history is among the biggest challenges and the team has yet to determine whether to cast an established actor or a new talent who bears a great resemblance to Hatta.
'Aside from physical traits, the actor must also have a proper Dutch pronunciation,' Fathya told The Jakarta Post during a discussion on Hatta in Jakarta on Sunday evening.
