The Jakarta city administration has begun preparations for flooding that might hit the capital city during the rainy season, an official said on Thursday.

'€œSo far, we have carried out various measures to anticipate floods, including preparing structural and non-structural mitigation efforts,'€ head of the Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) said as quoted by Antara news agency.

I hope that this anticipation will keep Indonesia,  especially Jakarta, safe from big floods.

Although it can'€™t completely prevent Jakarta from flooding, I do hope it can decrease the number of areas in Jakarta that get the floods.

Jakarta is a town of a thousand problems. Flooding is the result of the citizens'€™ behavior. Riverbanks provide nice homes for thousands of families.

They throw everything in the river without considering the effects. If the government wants to solve this problem, the government needs to educate about how to be a good citizen, make rules to save the environment and punish those who break the rules.
