inger Watisoni Votu scored a double and Fiji survived a second half rally from the United States on Friday to win 20-14 for its first victory on its northern hemisphere tour.
Tries from fullback Timoci Nagusa and Votu helped Fiji take a 15-0 half-time lead, with Nemani Nadolo kicking a conversion and a penalty.
The United States responded early in the second period with centre Seamus Kelly crossing for a try, with fullback Ronnie McLean adding the conversion.
Votu's second try extended Fiji's lead to 20-7, before Biarritz's Takudzwa Ngwenya scored the Americans' second try in the 60th, with McLean again converting.
Votu was then sin-binned in the 67th minute, reducing Fiji to 14-men, but the Pacific Islanders' defense held firm to earn their first tour win after losses to France (40-15) and Wales (17-13).
