Comments: '€˜Think big'€™, Jokowi tells ministers, state firms

During his first Cabinet meeting after a week-long state visit to several international forums, President Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo discussed the nation'€™s most pressing economic issues: infrastructure, fuel subsidies and the investment climate.

Your comments:

When I was young in 1960s, our legendary founding father Bung Karno (Sukarno) used to say : Gantunglah cita-citamu setinggi bintang di langit (put your ideas as high as stars in the sky).

Pak Jokowi, like Bung Karno, try to encourage us to always think big, far beyond our limits. This is very good because all of us are blessed with great skills and talents and we are all obliged to discover these internal strengths, develop them and make the most out of them to create good things for mankind.

Play fair with foreign investors and stop changing the laws at our whim and fancy and we must ensure foreign investors feels safe. The current Churchill Mining vs. Indonesian government court case will show how sincere this government is.

Foreign investors especially big publicly listed corporations cannot invest in Indonesia because they cannot accept and cannot explain to their shareholders why they have to give 10 percent shares/equity free-ride (no payment) in a new venture in Indonesian government infrastructure projects to private individuals?
