ahot Sinaga, chairman of the executive and judicial department of the Golkar Party's central executive board, has expresses his concern that Golkar's ninth national meeting, which is due to be held in Bali from Nov. 30 to Dec. 3, could be prone to conflict.
'The ninth national meeting will be very different from previous meetings, because the meeting involves a lot of violations of the party's regulations, quite apart from its preparation being full of trickery, including the determination of the location and the execution time,' said Lamhot on Monday as quoted by Antara news agency.
Lamhot, who is also the spokesperson of the campaign team of Agung Laksono, one of the candidates for the Golkar party chairmanship, said that information that the government had issued a temporary permit, was not true.
'The committee for the meeting is not fully formed yet, so such information is not true. ['¦] as far as I know, so far the government has not issued any permit for the party's meeting in Bali,' he said.
Lamhot further disclosed that the location for the meeting had changed twice. The first time it was planned for Bandung, West Java, then Surabaya, East Java. However, the party did not get permission from the police for either location.
Meanwhile, Golkar's central executive board deputy secretary-general Nurul Arifin confirmed that the party would hold a plenary meeting at the board's office in Slipi, West Jakarta, on Monday afternoon.
'The plenary meeting will be held at 3:00 p.m.,' she said.
Nurul said that she did not to know what would be discussed in the plenary meeting, but according to Golkar's eastern Indonesia Young Axis spokesman Victor Abraham Abaidata, the meeting would discuss everything about the national meeting.
Golkar's previous plenary meeting agreed that the national meeting would be held in January 2015, but suddenly during the party's national leaders meeting, it was decided that the meeting would be held on Nov. 30 in Bandung.
However, not long after that, Golkar suddenly announced that the national meeting would take place in Bali. (ask)(+++)
