resident Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo is expected to have a blusukan (informal visit) to the Tourist Market, or Pasar Bawah as it is popularly called, during his official visit to Pekanbaru, Riau, on Wednesday.
Jokowi is scheduled to arrive in the province on Wednesday to directly monitor the land and forest fires that have been recurrently causing haze for the last 17 years.
'Before returning to Jakarta, the President will have a blusukan ' meet and greet at the market,' Riau provincial administration's spokesperson Yoserizal Zein said Sunday.
Making sure that the President has a smooth visit will be Riau acting Governor Arsyadjuliandi 'Andi' Rachman and 031/Wira Bima Resort Military Commander Brig. Gen. Prihadi Agus Irianto.
Riau Police chief Brig. Gen. Dolly Bambang Hermawan and Pekanbaru Mayor Firdaus held a blusukan in the same market on Sunday morning while informing traders regarding the President's planned visit. (***)
