he Indonesia Palestine Friendship Initiative (PPIP) plans to hold a charity concert in Jakarta next month in which Indonesian and Palestinian artists will collaborate.
The committee secretary, Mustofa B. Nahrawardana, said that the concert, which will be held at Istora Senayan, Central Jakarta on Nov.30, was aimed at providing aid to Palestinians.
'All the money we collect from the concert will be sent to the Palestinian people,' Mustofa said in Jakarta on Monday as quoted by Antara news agency.
He said that noted Indonesian singer Melly Goeslaw, Husein Alatas of Indonesian Idol and composer Dwiki Dharmawan would collaborate with Arab Idol winner Muhammad Asad and 25 other artists from the Jerusalem Arabic Ensemble.
The concert is fully supported by the Palestinian Embassy in Jakarta and Muhammadiyah, the country's second- largest Muslim organization, and the Center for Dialogue and Cooperation among Civilizations (CDCC).
'We are aiming to see for 10,000 attendees,' he said, adding that ticket prices were set at Rp 50,000 (US$4.11). After a concert in Jakarta, he said that the Palestinian musicians would perform at Muhammadiyah University in Yogyakarta on Dec. 2. (nfo)(++++)
