Archipelago to strengthen its hotel networks in S. Kalimantan

O

ne of the largest hotel chains in Indonesia, Archipelago International, is set to strengthen its property network in South Kalimantan to capture the province'€™s booming economic activities.

Archipelago plans to open its first hotel in Banjarbaru, closely bordering the province'€™s capital Banjarmasin, under its budget brand NEO early next year.

'€œWe are continually searching for the best locations throughout Indonesia and beyond to launch our hotels. Sometimes the locations are already tourist hot spots while others, like South Kalimantan, are still relatively undiscovered yet show incredible potential for the future,'€ Archipelago International president and CEO John Flood said on Wednesday.

'€œWe are proud to be opening the first Hotel NEO in South Kalimantan, and we hope that with our presence, we will help further boost this promising destination.'€

Hotel NEO Banjarbaru will have 45 rooms that are equipped with upmarket amenities typically unheard of in other budget hotels, such as 32 inch LCD TVs and 100 percent cotton bed sheets and duvets as well as in-room massage services, he said.

A coffee shop and complimentary high speed WiFi will also be provided in the hotel.

Situated near to Banjarbaru'€™s emerging city center and the bustling Martapura jewelry market, and just 10 minutes from Syamsuddin Noor International Airport, he said that the hotel offered guests the utmost convenience.

In addition, Archipelago public relations manager Nita Janita said that they planned to bring two more brands, Aston and Fave Hotel, to Banjarbaru in the next two years.

'€œThe rapid development of the city and the shift of government activities from Banjarmasin to Banjarbaru have made this city more attractive,'€ Nita said.

Archipelago has a portfolio of more than 80 hotels across the country ranging from upscale to budget classifications under the brands Grand Aston, Aston, Aston City, Alana, Harper, Quest, Favehotel, NEO, and Kamuela.

It currently has a development pipeline of 95 properties in Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines.(+++)
