The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) closed on a positive note Friday as it strengthened slightly by 0.09 percent to 5,149.88.
Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) data showed 149 stocks had strengthened by 4 p.m. on Friday, while 140 stocks had weakened and 87 remained unchanged, kontan.co.id reported.
The final trade involved 9.05 billion shares worth Rp 5.54 trillion (US$443.2 million).
Shares in five out of 10 sectors traded on the IDX recorded improvements, with construction leading the list as it jumped by 1.05 percent, followed by agriculture and miscellaneous industry at 0.31 percent and 0.28 percent, respectively.
Shares in the LQ45 index that saw the highest increase during the closing session included PT Alam Sutera Realty, PT Pakuwon Jati and PT Express Transindo.
Meanwhile, PT Media Nusantara Citra, PT Global Mediacom and PT Surya Citra Media were the index's biggest losers. (nfo)(++++)
