Nov. 25, p3
The Culture and Elementary and Secondary Education Ministry is to review teachers' welfare to boost the quality of education in the country, according to the country's top education official on Monday.
Your comments:
I do agree with the government on improving teacher's welfare. In my opinion the success of the student depends on how well the teacher teaches them in class. The teacher's welfare should be fulfilled to get a well-qualified teacher to boost the quality of education in our country.
Muslimin
Teachers' welfare should be at the forefront for attaining well-qualified teachers as their basic needs are fulfilled so they can concentrate and focus more on their roles to teach and educate.

Banning ancient sex ritual on Mt. Kemukus
Nov. 26, p27
Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo has banned residents from performing an ancient tradition of engaging in sex at the tomb of Prince Samodra on Mount Kemukus in Sragen regency.
Your comments:
I look at the 'bright' side. This has been and will always be a magical Java Island. Look at the history of the changing faith of the people. We can say some stay 'stupid and immoral', while others do not want to talk about it and, yes, until the foreign media has reported it as 'news' then the governor spares no time to cover up the shame in his area of responsibility!

Does the G20 matter for Indonesia?
Nov. 18, p6
The Group of Twenty (G20) major economies is believed by many to be an organization capable of finding solutions to the global financial crisis for developed and developing countries alike. (By Muhtar Lutfi, Yogyakarta)
Your comments:
If Indonesia does not need to pay a huge amount of money to remain a member every year, belonging to this group would have its benefits. The question remains, who should represent Indonesia out there?
Will the person representing Indonesia be daring to express what is important to this country, regardless of what the other big-eight countries have told us? Sometimes logic and common sense are the most important things in life.
Shelagh
Why doesn't the government maximize tax revenues to cover the state-budget leaks instead of eliminating the fuel subsidy?
Regarding Indonesian membership in G20, it doesn't have a significant impact on domestic interests because the lovely country has no bargaining power in this forum ' educated unemployment is increasing. Indonesia under President Jokowi should be assertive or leave the forum.
Ardhan
Developed countries came to the forum with their own agendas. Indonesia should not be parroting developed countries. We should bring our own agenda.
