emarang Police in Semarang, Central Java, arrested atofu seller identified as Iwan Agus Prasetyo for the violent theft ofmotorbikes.

Semarang Police chief Sr. Comr. Djihartono said that Iwan '€” who is an ex-boyfriend of transgender Mayang Prasetyo who was brutally murdered in Australia last October '€” was arrested on Thursday on Jl. Saptamarga.

He said police were forced to shoot Iwan in the leg as he attempted to escape.

'€œAnother suspect, Ida Bagus, is still at large. We are informed he escaped to Bali,'€ Djihartono said.

The police seized a sharp weapon, four motorbikes of varying brands, a cell phone and a motorbike plate.

Using the sharp weapon to threaten his victims, Iwan said he would steal motorbikes after receiving orders from a broker. He added that he usually sold a stolen motorbike for around Rp 3 million (US$245) after modifications.
