T

he National Police are expected to rotate several middle and high ranking officers in the next few months in anticipation of the retirement of senior officials, said National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Ronny F. Sompie on Wednesday.

'€œThe National Police chief has sent telegrams regarding the rotation of several officers. A number of them have been promoted,'€ Ronny said at the National Police headquarters in South Jakarta.

Ronny said that more than 100 officers were being rotated, including a number in the public relations division.

Among officials who were rotated were police spokesman Brig. Gen. Boy Rafli Amar, who is being promoted as Banten Police chief to replace retiring Brig. Gen. Muhammad Zulkarnain.

Meanwhile, another spokesman, Sr. Comr. Agus Rianto, is expected to replace Boy and be promoted to Brigadier General.

Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Rikwanto will then be rotated to the National Police to become one of their spokesmen. Rikwanto will be replaced by Sr. Comr. Martinus Sitompul who is currently the West Java Police'€™s spokesman.

Papua Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Sulistyo Pudjo is expected to replace Martinus.

Meanwhile, National Narcotics Agency (BNN) community empowerment deputy Insp. Gen. Vincentius Sambudyiono and BNP2TKI security operations director Brig. Gen. Bambang Purwanto would be transferred back as part of the National Police chief'€™s special staff. (***)
