span class="inline inline-left">Arantxa said his ninth solo fashion show was his way to prove his existence and maturity in the fashion world.

'€œIf a singer has a greatest hits album, then this fashion show for me is like the compilation of my greatest designs,'€ Arantxa says.

Arantxa started his career in fashion in 1998. He held his first fashion show at the Jakarta Convention Center in 2003, has featured in magazines in Australia and Hong Kong and was involved in the 2011 Asian Fashion Week.

He said his latest collection, which was showcased at the Grand Ballroom at Hotel Indonesia Kempinski in Central Jakarta, reflected his admiration for women with all their uniqueness.

'€œThis year, my collection has been greatly inspired by young Indonesian actresses, namely Olivia Jansen, Chelsea Island, Tara Basro, Salvita Decarte, Tatjana Saphira and Pevita Pearce, who stand out for their confidence and great talent,'€ Arantxa said.

He said the women were ideal to represent his dresses, which were designed to make women look more confident with their own selves.

Unlike the usual fashion show, Arantxa, who collaborated with prominent artistic director Jay Subiakto, turned the ballroom into a lounge where guests sat in the middle of two black runways.

'€œI want the guests to feel like they'€™re in a lounge. And when the show'€™s over, the runways will become bars so they can have the after-party in the same place,'€ Jay said.

The show itself was divided into two parts based on colors. The first began by showcasing dresses in bright colors, such as green, peach and white.

A golden peplum dress that featured a motif of white bubbles detailing the front, a predominantly white short dress with a long train, a long grey strapless dress with sequin embellishment in some parts and a long golden cape dress highlighted the first chapter.

In the second chapter, Arantxa showcased mostly black dresses.  Black dresses with white stripes that came in various silhouettes, a flowing strapless dress, a V-neck ruffle dress and a long beaded strapless dress would make all women who wore them look elegant and sexy.

'€œThe colors of the gowns in the first and second part are contrasting, but all tie into elegance and the feminine touch,'€ he said.

Made of Italian silk satin, lace, duchess silk and brocade, his dresses'€™ simplicity was enriched by the application of embroidery, brocade and tulle details.

'€œThis collection consists of designs popular among my customers and I combine them with something that is going to be huge next year '€” details elaboration.'€

Golden heels by Ugna and long earrings and choker pearl necklaces by House of Jealouxy spruced up the whole look.

Arantxa also decided to try something new by using laser cut technique in several looks, mixed with handmade works. '€œThis technique is not new, but it is for me, and it'€™s quite interesting,'€ he says.
