JCI falls 0.31% at Monday's close

The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) closed on a negative note on Monday as it declined by 0.37 percent to 5,125.77.

Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) data showed that 191 stocks went down by 4 p.m. on Monday while 121 stocks strengthened and 77 stocks remained stable, kontan.co.id reported.

Shares in nine out of 10 sectors traded on the IDX slipped during the closing session, with agriculture suffering the biggest fall as it dropped by 1.18 percent, followed by construction which fell by 1.04 percent.

Miscellaneous industry was the only sector that strengthened in the final trade, with a rise of 0.1 percent.

Shares in the LQ45 index that recorded the biggest falls included PT Pakuwon Jati (PWON), PT Lippo Karawaci (LPKR) and PT Bank Tabungan Negara (BBTN).

Meanwhile, PT Waskita Karya (WSKT), PT Kalbe Farma (KLBF) and PT Bank Negara Indonesia (BBNI) were the index'€™s highest gainers.

The volume of trade in the final session involved 12.3 billion stocks worth Rp 5.5 trillion (US$440 million). (nfo)(++++)
