Newly inaugurated Jakarta Deputy Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat has asked the city administration to procure five motorcycles for blusukan (impromptu visit) purposes
ewly inaugurated Jakarta Deputy Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat has asked the city administration to procure five motorcycles for blusukan (impromptu visit) purposes.
Jakarta Financial Management Board (BPKD) head Heru Budi Hartono said that the deputy governor had asked him to procure five motorcycles in the 2015 draft budget. 'Pak Djarot didn't ask for a new official car but he did ask me for five motorcycles for blusukan. We will allocate the motorcycles in the 2015 budget,' he said on Monday.
Djarot confirmed that he had asked the city administration to procure the motorcycles. He previously said that he would carry out blusukan in Jakarta's slums and urban villages, where roads are too small to accommodate cars. Therefore, the former Blitar mayor said that he would travel using motorcycles instead of cars when undertaking blusukan.
'I have to be creative to carry out blusukan. I will use motorcycles so my travel will be easier,' Djarot said.
He said he needed five motorcycles because he would station each one in a different place to enhance his mobility. (***)
