Accompanying the President and Vice President were Coordinating Human Development and Culture Minister Puan Maharani, Home Minister Tjahjo Kumolo, Law and Human Rights Minister Yasonna H. Laoly, Environment and Forestry Minister Siti Nurbaya, Agrarian Minister Ferry Mursyidan Baldan and Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Susi Padjiastuti.
Antara news agency reported that other VVIP guests in attendance were NasDem Party chairman Surya Paloh, PDI-P chairwoman Megawati Sukarnoputri, NasDem secretary-general Patrice Rio Capella and the secretary-general of United Development Party (PPP).
Acting PDI-P secretary-general Hasto Kristiyanto said during the ceremony that the party's anniversary celebrations were held in a simple fashion as the ruling party and its members wanted to focus on improving people's welfare and building a better democracy.(rms)
