The suspected terrorist, believed to be member of the Santoso-led terrorist group in Poso, Central Sulawesi, was shot dead during a raid on a house in Krenceng Village, Kepung District early on Friday.
Kediri Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Bambang W. Bain said here on Friday that his office has been instructed to improve security in the town, especially in the area where the suspected terrorist was shot.
The body of the suspected terrorist, whose identity has yet to be publicly released, was brought to the Bhayangkara General Hospital before being handed over to his family.
Bambang said the suspected terrorist was included in the list of the most-wanted in Poso. He added that the deceased and Santoso had been held responsible for the recent shooting of the Bima Police chief and chief detective in West Nusa Tenggara.
During the raid the police team and the suspected terrorist engaged in a gunfight, Antara News Agency reported.(***)
