Manado city in North Sulawesi has recorded 17 cases of dengue fever, two of which ended in death, in the first month of this year.
Manado Health Office head Robby Motoh said a number of community health clinics had failed to carry out fogging as most of their fogging equipment was faulty.
'A lot of the equipment is damaged so not every area has been fumigated. The rain is also an obstacle,' said Motoh.
According to him, fogging had been carried out at 20 locations.
'The 17 cases of dengue fever were based on reports from community health clinics and we have conducted fogging in the relevant areas, covering a radius of 100 meters. So far, 20 points have been fumigated,' said Motoh. (***)
