The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) closed on a positive note on Tuesday, climbing by 0.33 percent to 5,277.15 points.
The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) data showed 183 stocks strengthened by 4 p.m. on Tuesday while 107 stocks weakened and 89 stocks remained stable, kontan.co.id reported.
Shares in nine out of 10 sectors traded on the IDX recorded growth during the final trading session with mining leading the list as it jumped by 1.36 percent, followed by agriculture which rose by 1.21 percent.
The only sector that failed to make improvements at Tuesday's close was miscellaneous industry, which dropped by 2.03 percent.
The volume of trade between the lunchtime and closing sessions involved 5.18 billion stocks worth Rp 6.42 trillion (US$513.6 million).
Shares of PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur (ICBP), PT Waskita Karya (WSKT) and PT AKR Corporindo (AKRA) were the LQ45 index's top gainers during the closing trade.
In the regional market, Hong Kong's Hang Seng and China's Shanghai Composite Index weakened by 0.41 percent and 0.89 percent to 24,807.28 and 3,352.96, respectively.
Meanwhile, Singapore's Straits Times strengthened by 0.4 percent to 3,412.20 in Tuesday's final trade. (nfo)(++++)
