he presidential jet carrying President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo and his entourage landed at Soewondo Airport in Medan, North Sumatra, at 9:50 a.m. on Tuesday for a scheduled presidential working trip.
Upon his arrival, President Jokowi was greeted by North Sumatra Governor Gatot Pujo Nugroho, Bukit Barisan Military Commander Maj. Gen. Winston Simanjuntak and North Sumatra Police Chief Insp. Gen. Eko Hadi Sutejo, among several others, according to Antara news agency.
The President, accompanied by Governor Gatot Pujo Nugroho, then boarded an Air Force Super Puma helicopter H-3205 to visit Kuala Tanjung in Batubara regency.
At Kuala Tanjung, the head of state will inspect PT Inalum and attend the groundbreaking ceremony of an international port development project.
During his visit, the President will also inaugurate a number of strategic projects in North Sumatra, including the Sei Mangke Special Economic Zone. (hhr)
