Prosecutor Mas'ud said the defendant, also a former deputy rector of the university, was charged under Article 1 of the Narcotics Law, which carries a minimum sentence of four years' imprisonment and a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison, as well as a minimum fine of Rp 800 million (US$64,000) and a maximum fine of Rp 8 billion.
'The defendant's urine and blood tests showed traces of methamphetamine,' Mas'ud told the court.
Musakkir was arrested at a hotel in Makassar on Nov. 14 last year while allegedly using drugs along with another lecturer from the university and a female student from a private university in the city. (***)
